Arms And Sleepers - The Organ Hearts (from syffal)

I fell in love after the first loop. Then I just kept getting more and more in lust with this fucking album. A peaceful approach to electronic music, it's as if they had no other focus than to give the listener smile fodder. Every track so far has brought my normally too-fast-paced morning to an absolute crawl, and I appreciate it immensely. Normally I'm busting ass trying to get the kids out the door, the kids into daycare and myself into work as soon as possible... Read More »

Arms and Sleepers - Nostalgia For The Absolute (from sputnikmusic)

Summary: Providing the perfect soundtrack for the changing seasons, Arms and Sleepers craft an exquisite and delightful EP that says so much without actually saying anything at all 3 of 3 thought this review was well written It's been two years since Arms and Sleepers' Matador lazily crept across our subconscious with its laconic daydream philosophies and sunlight-tinged ambiance... Arms and Sleepers - Matador (from Delusions of Adequacy)

Arms and Sleepers - Bliss Was it in that Dawn to be Alive (from Tiny Mix Tapes)

Arms and Sleepers' debut EP, Bliss Was it in that Dawn to be Alive, is a stylish and laconic release containing seven tracks that fall somewhere between instrumental hip-hop and new age. The Massachusetts duo currently resides in Cambridge, a location which is perhaps a factor in the cerebral overtones that permeate the album. It's a little too chilled-out to reside within the purview of dance music, but altogether too beat-heavy to be considered ambient... Read More »

ARMS AND SLEEPERS - Bliss Was It In That Dawn To Be Alive (from Aquarius Records)

Here's one to sink into! The new album from Cambridge, MA's Arms And Sleepers is the perfect instrumental soundtrack for golden sunrises and amber sunsets. For its approximately half hour running time, the gentle ebb and flow of Bliss Was It In That Dawn To Be Alive effectively slows your day down. This is envelopingly sumptuous, airily expansive ambient music with world-y beats not heard since the heydays of Dead Can Dance, Delerium or Enigma. Very hypnotic and soothing. Read More »

decision to make. We also apologize to all the promoters that worked hard to make this tour happen. We wish things were different, but sometimes wishes are not reality. Unfortunately, we are not sure when/if we will be able to make up these dates. This is because the other piece of news is that Arms and Sleepers will be going on an indefinite hiatus. While we (Max and Mirza) remain close friends and will continue making music together, we are not likely to play any shows for quite some time, or to put out releases. It is time for us to turn focus to other personal and professional aspirations, and perhaps ... posting a few more things in the coming months anyway. Very simply, we want to thank everyone that has supported us in any capacity over the years. We've made a lot of wonderful friends and unforgettable memories through music, and have been extremely lucky to be able to travel the world. This to us is priceless, and we thank all of you that were a part of that experience. I am sure that we will see some of you again, and I am sure that you'll hear more music from us at some point. Right now, we just don't know when that will be, and we are guessing it won't be for a while. Much love, Max & Mirza Arms and Sleepers Hiatus Read More »
